Project Idea: Valentine Swirls

I know Valentine's Day has come and gone, but I couldn't resist stitching up this little swirly heart anyways!

Project Materials:

Chart: This is one of two charts in Fireside Originals' GHO42 The Swirls - January Snowman / February Valentine chart. There are six charts in this series, with one small swirly chart for each month. Released in 2014, this chart is available from your favorite needlework shop.

Fabric: 14 count Violet Mist Aida (Wichelt) (we are all out of this fabric in the supply shop, but you can order it from your favorite shop!)

Threads/Other: Forget-Me-Not (Silk n Colors, Thread Gatherer), Copper-Lined Teal 11/0 seed beads (both available in our Supply Shop).

Project Notes:

It's a bit hard to tell from the original chart photo (right), but the design is charted for two threads. For my version, I decided to replace the center accent swirl thread with the copper-lined beads instead - to my surprise, it really brings out the teal in the Forget-Me-Nots silk, teal I didn't really even notice was there previously. I used a single strand of the silk to attach my beads on the diagonal.

This simple chart was a quick stitch and super-easy to personalize. Check back on Friday for our monthly Finish It Friday post, and I'll show you how I'm finishing this little guy. Happy Stitching!
