For this week's project idea, I selected this adorable chart from Embellishing Bits, The Cauldron. It's a quick stitch, fits our current box's Halloween theme perfectly, and it comes with this little tombstone stand-up for finishing!
- Chart: The Cauldron, by Embellishing Bits
- Fabric: 14 count Legacy Aida, by Picture This Plus (from our Scream box, March/April 2016)
- Thread: Imperial Purple, by Fiberlicious (I used 2 strands held together)
This one was a nice, easy stitch - no color changes, and nice big patches of solid stitching (a nice change of pace after some of the other models I've been stitching lately!). The chart calls for 30 count Weeks linen, but I think the 14 count Aida fits just fine on the provided tombstone. To finish, you just trim your stitching down (I trimmed to 5 threads outside of my stitched area), and pull off one or two threads to give it some fringe! Attach to the tombstone using a bit of glue or archival double-sided tape, and you are all done!
Now, for the Giveaway!
When I bought this chart, I also happened to buy the Jack O Lantern, the other chart Embellishing Bits released with the little painted tombstone - would you like to stitch it?
This contest is open through April 30th, and is only open to those with a United States shipping address due to the size of the tombstone. (I promise our next contest will be open to all!) Enter using the widget below:
Until next time, happy stitching!
