Each week we share a project stitched with products from our most recent StitchyBox shipment, to help spark your creativity and get you stitching! Want to see your own project featured here, and receive a free StitchyBox shipment to boot? Check out our Project Model Stitcher program!
This week's project is part of HInzeit's Word Play series, called Stitch Time:
- Chart: Stitch Time (Word Play), by Hinzeit (available from your favorite needlework shop)
- Fabric: 28 count Twilight Mist (Wichelt)
- Threads: All six threads from our Scream shipment (March/April 2016)
You know me, I love charts like this - ones that are easy to personalize with your favorite colors and make your own. The original design called for a set of 5 blues, along with a black for the words and the skein bands. I wanted to use all 6 threads from our most recent shipment (can't leave anyone out!), so I used Wood Nymph for the words, and the remaining five threads for the five skeins, rotating through each for the skein bands.
I used 2 strands throughout, except for the Soy Luster, where I used one. I do think you could use two if you want that skein to be extra poofy, but I like being able to see the individual strands on that skein.
You might also notice that my version does not have the little charm you can see on the "I" in Time - I could tell you some philosophical reason why I left it off, but in reality I misplaced it. Not the first, and not the last, time something like that will happen, I'm sure!
This is a great project for showing off your favorite threads, and since it is mostly satin stitches, it also stitches up quite quickly (always a plus!)
As always, I'd love to see what you are working on this week - your WIPs, your finishes, and your UFOs. Leave us a comment below with a link or a photo so we can take a peek :)
Until next time, Happy Stitching!
