Each week we share a project stitched with products from our most recent StitchyBox shipment, to help spark your creativity and get you stitching! Want to see your own project featured here, and receive a free StitchyBox shipment to boot? Check out our Project Model Stitcher program!
This week's project is Read Books, a free chart available from Kincavel Krosses. When I was in school, summer time was always my chance to devour big thick books like Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time and Stephen King's The Stand. As I've grown older, I've found myself reading less and less, which is something I want to change. When I saw Kell's free chart, I thought a commanding book mark was exactly what I needed to reach my 100 books in 1001 days goal!
The Fabric Flair aida from our most recent shipment was the perfect choice for this project - since it is on the stiffer side, I'm not particularly worried about any additional threads coming off of the fringe I added to the edges of the bookmark. You can always spray the back of your project with Fray Check if you think your bookmark will see some heavy action!
Since this is a monochrome chart, you can select any thread you'd like - I used Daylily, also from our most recent shipment, as I tend to prefer cotton threads for projects that are going to to be handled frequently - the cotton is less likely to "fuzz" when compared to silk.
As always, I'd love to see what you are working on this week - your WIPs, your finishes, and your UFOs. Leave us a comment below with a link or a photo so we can take a peek :)
Until next time, Happy Stitching!
