Each week we share a project stitched with products from our most recent StitchyBox shipment, to help spark your creativity and get you stitching! Want to see your own project featured here, and receive a free StitchyBox shipment to boot? Check out our Project Model Stitcher program!
This week's project idea is Freedom, part of ScissorTail Designs' Three for Thee Series. Not only are there three little designs in the chart, but there's also a lovely little poem I think you will love!
- Chart: Freedom, ScissorTail Designs
- Fabric: 36 count Espresso linen, R&R Reproductions (Little Sunbather shipment)
I usually use just 1 strand over 2 on 36 count fabric, but I honestly didn't think about what I was doing when I started stitching this one, and ended up using 2 strands. Luckily, the R&R fabric is a bit more open than most dyed fabrics, so the 2 strands fit nicely. It also helps the colors pop!
I also made an unintended change to the chart, and accidentally moved the blue line above "freedom" one stitch up, which meant I had to fudge the side lines a little bit. Just makes it a bit more unique, right?
If you'd like to use a darker blue, closer to the color used in the chart, the Kreinik Silk Mori 5016 from our Winter Queen shipment would be a good choice.
As always, I'd love to see what you are working on this week - your WIPs, your finishes, and your UFOs. Leave us a comment below with a link or a photo so we can take a peek :)
Until next time, Happy Stitching!
