Project Idea: Monster Boo Pillow (and a coupon alert!)

This week's project idea features products from our Halloween Ornaments box and a chart from - Monster Boo:

As you can see, we tweaked the colorways from the original a bit - I like to think of him as our Disco Monster Boo! He was stitched on 32 count Natural/Brown Petit Point linen using all of the threads from our Halloween Ornaments box as well as a few extra scraps of DMC cotton floss for Frankie's bolts, the yellow of the flower and the green flower stem. This sort of chart is just begging to be personalized, using your favorite colorways or ones that will match it's intended home.

Nadia finished Disco Monster Boo into a pillow using the quilting fabric and Week's Dye Works' wool felt that also came in the Halloween Ornaments box.

Halloween Highland Garden - Halloween Ornaments Box Project Idea

While our most recent Halloween box was geared towards ornament projects, that's no reason to limit yourself! Check out our version of Highland Garden from Keslyns:

To stitch a Halloween Highland Garden for yourself, you'll need:

  • Chart: Keslyns' Highland Garden (available from your favorite needlework shop)
  • Fabric: 28 count Chai Tea evenweave (in our March 2015 box) - our model was stitched on a Fat 16th with plenty to spare.
  • Threads: Valdani Life is Beautiful cotton floss, Anchor #403 cotton floss, and Dinky Dyes Boulia silk floss (all in our March 2015 box). For some extra fun, you could also add in some of the glow-in-the-dark blending filament from Kreinik!
  • Beads: black Mill Hill beads (or any other color you think would match - check your stash!)

Laurie, our model stitcher, said this was a breeze to stitch - Lynda includes very detailed charts, so you know exactly what you need to do.  This would be a great project for someone looking to branch out into counted thread projects.

Have you stitched a project using supplies from our March box? We'd love to see it - please leave us a comment with a link to your project!
